What is Starlite Express?

Starlite Express is the port to port courier service offered by Starlite Ferries Inc. for documents, parcels or box cargoes. Shipments are transported on Starlite Ferries Inc.’s vessels’ existing shipping routes.

How to avail the Starlite Express service?

You can visit any Starlite Ticketing Office to avail the Starlite Express service. Each ticketing office serves as the drop-off point and receiving hub for your items. Currently, Starlite Express does not provide packaging or boxes, so please ensure that you have the proper container, carton / box for secure handling and shipment of your items. Please do not seal your container or box just yet as our representatives will inspect the same to ensure compliance with government rules and regulations as well as company safety / security requirements. We will provide packaging tapes for sealing your container / box once it passes inspection.

What are the items not accepted for shipment by Starlite Express?

cash, currency and negotiable / non-negotiable instruments (such as bonds, stock certificates, travelers’ checks)
jewelry including watches made of precious metals or gems
goods in commercial quantities
alcoholic beverages
tobacco products
pornographic materials
firearms and its parts, ammunition and war materials
switchblade knives and any of its kind
dangerous and hazardous goods that may pose significant risk to health and safety such as but are not limited to: explosives, fireworks, flammable solids or liquids, gas, oxidizing substances, organic peroxides, toxic and infectious substances, radioactive materials, corrosives
items of extreme value such as but are not limited to: artwork, archaeological artifacts, antique and antiquity items, collectible coins, etc.
live animals and insects
animal carcasses
human corpses, human body parts, human embryos, disinterred or cremated human remains
articles or products from plants and animals that are protected under the CITES (Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora)
lottery tickets and gambling devices that are prohibited by the law
medical waste, hazardous waste or garbage for disposal
liquids such as but are not limited to cooking oil, detergent, chemicals etc.
commodities or shipments that are prohibited by the law, regulations or religion
Shipments that require local or national license for transportation

What are the different modes of payment accepted for Starlite Express?

Payment can be made in cash, bank deposit or fund transfer. For bank deposit and fund transfers, payment will be verified first by a representative of Starlite Ferries Inc. before your cargo can be accepted for shipping. Ensure that you have a copy or proof of the bank deposit or fund transfer for faster verification of your transactions. You may use the following bank accounts for your payments:

What are the details or information needed for your Starlite Express documents, parcels / cargoes?

Shipper’s name, address and contact number
Consignee’s name, address and contact number
Port of Origin
Port of Destination
Ensure that these details are written clearly on the envelopes, parcels or boxes that you will be using for shipping your items.

What happens if my shipment is delayed, damaged or lost?

In the event that Starlite Express items will be delayed, damaged or lost, Starlite Ferries Inc. may be held liable based on the terms and conditions as agreed upon by Starlite Ferries Inc., the shipper and the consignee.

Do you have pickup and delivery service?

We have partnered with Worklink Services, Inc. (WSI), a company that specializes in courier, forwarding, trucking and logistics services, for your pickup and delivery requirements. WSI is a subsidiary of Chelsea Logistics and Infrastructure Holdings Corp. (Chelsea). For more information about WSI, please contact +63.2. 85.333.888

How do I claim my Starlite Express items?

Your Starlite Express items should be claimed immediately at the pickup location identified by Starlite Ferries Inc. Please be at the intended receiving hub at least one (1) hour prior to the arrival of the vessel carrying your items to anticipate your cargoes. Our authorized port personnel may guide and help you with unloading your items. The recipient or consignee of the items should bring a valid government ID and a copy of the official receipt for the releasing of the items.

What time should I bring the items at the drop off location?

You may bring the items to the drop off location three (3) hours prior to the vessel’s departure for proper handling and inspection. The shipper, with the assistance of Starlite Ferries Inc.’s assigned port personnel, will be responsible for loading the items into its designated location aboard the vessel. You may also enlist the help of porters to carry and transport your boxed cargoes. Items or packages brought in late may be scheduled for shipping on the next available trip.

Do you have storage facilities for unclaimed items and how much would it cost?

We encourage our clients to pick up their shipment or cargoes on the day and time of its arrival at the intended receiving hub. For unclaimed items, Starlite Ferries, Inc. deserves the right to charge customers with corresponding storage fees prior to its release. All unclaimed items after five (5) days will be disposed properly by Starlite Ferries Inc. to cover the cost of its storage.

STARLITE EXPRESS GUIDELINES

Some of the Items mentioned in the FAQs section may be shipped via Starlite Ferries Inc.’s commercial cargo segment in compliance with the laws and guidelines implemented by the government, the company and the shipping industry. Higher rates and port charges will be applied.

Other items not mentioned above may be shipped subject to evaluation and pricing of Authorized Representatives from Starlite Ferries Inc.

For perishable items such as but not limited to food, flowers, plants, live animals; shipping will always be deemed and labeled owner’s risk. Perishable items should meet the requirements and be packed by the owner to preserve its freshness during the entire shipping period.

Starlite Ferries Inc. may limit the quantity of your cargoes to twenty (20) per packaging (box, sack, bag, crate) otherwise it may be suggested to be shipped using the commercial cargo division and services of the company.

Valuation charge applies to every Starlite Express shipment. The maximum amount that a shipper can declare for valuation is Php25,000.00, regardless of the actual value of the parcel or cargo. Valuation fee is computed at 5% of the declared amount in the bill of lading, waybill or official receipt.
