1. Lambingan Falls (Magdiwang)
Bask in the beauty of turquoise waters at Lambingan Falls, one of the many waterfalls on SIbuyan Island. It consists of about three to five parts where visitors can bathe and swim. The large rocks are easy to climb for a photo-op, but exercise caution to prevent injuries. Its clear, blue waters are unspoiled, much like the rest of the island, making it an ideal, safe place to swim.
2. Casa Del San Fernando (San Fernando)

This Spanish colonial period structure now stands in ruins, but also charms visitors who want a historical glimpse into the island. It was a house that was first built out of coral stones in 1864 by then gobernadorcillo, Don Pedro Sanz, and since served as a cuartel. A portion of the house or watchtower remains wrapped in overgrown plants, a hauntingly beautiful remainder of the past.
3. Mount Guiting-Guiting
The majestic pride of Sibuyan Island is this challenging mountain. Mt. Guiting-Guiting is no ordinary tourist spot, however, unless you are a seasoned hiker. It is one of the Philippines’ most difficult mountains to climb. G2, as the locals call it, is located in a protected reserve due to the many flora and fauna that inhabit the mountain and its surrounding forests. If you aren’t a hiker, you can simply admire the mountain’s beauty from various points on the island.

The Cantingas River is known as the ‘Cleanest Inland Body of Water in the Philippines’. This is one of the most popular Sibuyan Island tourist spots even for locals. Its waters come from Mt. Guiting-Guiting, and are clear enough to show the bottom of the riverbed. You can swim and chill in the water, and while a diving platform is provided, it may be closed off on some occasions. Be sure to check with the management before attempting to dive.
This river is also significant to the daily lives of Sibuyan residents due to the mini hydro power plant located a ways from the river. It generates 90% of the island’s electric supply.
5. Lamao Lake (San Fernando)
Sometimes the best Sibuyan Island tourist spots are quite hidden. Lamao Lake is located near the southern tip of the island in Barangay Azagra. You can fish and kayak in this picturesque lake or simply unwind by the banks. Birdwatching enthusiasts might find it entertaining to spot a few local species in the area. You can also visit an old airstrip near the lake with an enchanting view of the sea and sunset.
6. Nuestra Señora dela Candelaria Parish Church / Azagra Chapel (San Fernando)

Just a few meters away from Lamao Lake is a centuries-old church dedicated to Our Lady of Candlemas. Azagra Chapel holds a long history within its small walls. It was built out of corals around the 17th century and is one of the oldest churches in the Philippines, second to the Basilica de Sto. Niño in Cebu City.
7. Azagra Lighthouse (San Fernando)
The new Azagra Lighthouse is also visible from Lake Lamao, standing tall to guide vessels passing the island. It is quite a rocky trek from the main road going to the lighthouse, but the view is worthwhile. The old lighthouse, located along the shores of Azagra, is no longer functional, but can still be visited.
8. Cresta de Gallo Island Sandbar (San Fernando)

Sibuyan Island’s most famous tourist spot in recent years is its only islet. Cresta de Gallo is admired for its long, pristine white sandbar, which connects two parts of the island. One side is rocky, while the opposite part is surrounded by greenery. The island is surrounded by bright and clear turquoise water extending into the vast sea.
There are a few nipa huts on the bigger part of the island, however, it is advisable to bring your own snacks, food, and trash bag to dispose properly back at Sibuyan.
9. Cawa-cawa Falls (Cajidiocan)
Trek through the forest of Cajidiocan to find this uniquely-shaped waterfall with three pools. Those who have visited said Cawa-cawa Falls looked like a cauldron, giving it its name. There is a bit of a challenge when navigating a few rocks to reach the upper levels, however, but you can choose to relax on the lower pools, which is equally rewarding after a few minutes’ hike.

This refreshing river resort offers a calm and cooling experience under the lush greenery of Cajidiocan. It is one of the popular Sibuyan Island tourist spots and hangout area for locals. This river is slightly rocky, but its clean, crystal clear waters are inviting for a swim. You can go in either the deep or shallow parts, which makes Agbalit River Resort enjoyable and safe for children, too.
